Safe Paws Animal Rescue of Ontario was founded in July of 2022 and we are located in Guelph, Ontario. I, Amber Verra, am a Veterinary Assistant/Inventory Manager at an emergency veterinary clinic in Cambridge. Working in a field where I regularly see pet owners in need of assistance with their pets. It prompted me to want to give back and help the voiceless animals who needed someone to advocate for them on a different level. That is how Safe Paws Animal Rescue of Ontario was founded! We primarily help dogs and cats but have assisted with a few rabbits in need of rehoming and veterinary care. Since the start of our animal rescue, we have helped 152 animals find new homes and have assisted nine families with veterinary care for their pets which include spaying/neutering, deworming and vaccines. Our mission is to help Ontario’s stray dog overpopulation in the north and to help alleviate the overcrowding in shelters. We are excited to continue to grow as a rescue and look forward to one day hosting our first spay/neuter clinic in the Guelph and KW area.

How can you help?

We accept in person, drop off and online donations. We have an amazon wishlist which we try to keep updated on what we currently need.

Things like toys, treats, pee pads, martingale collars, leashes, new bags of food, cleaning supplies etc are all useful to our rescue.

We also accept donations via e-transfer, cash or directly to our veterinary clinic in Cambridge.

We encourage sharing of our posts so that our adoptable animals can be viewed by people, even if not actively looking to adopt.
