Homeward Bound Rescue (HBR) is a volunteer run organization that has been actively involved in the care and rescue of brachycephalic (otherwise known as flat-faced) dogs since 2010. This rescue has gained momentum and growth in the last number of years with a variety of key local events in the Durham region such as K9 Carnival as well as working closely with a number of businesses to help promote and educate the community on these wonderful dogs.
In the last year alone, HBR
- Placed just under 90 dogs into their forever homes;
- Welcomed 44 new foster families to help care for the dogs in their care; and
- Volunteers traveled over 40,000 kms transporting dogs and care items throughout all of Southern Ontario
HBR is always looking to welcome new volunteers to help with events and transportation or those who may wish to open their homes for fostering!
HBR relies on the generosity of the community to continue to offer the support and care the dogs require. Donations can be made directly through the HBR website (https://www.homewardboundrescue.ca/donate/).
