Purrfect Seniors was founded to promote the adoption and well-being of senior cats. The organization began in June 2024 and is operated by a group of young women who volunteer their time to improve animal welfare.

With a successful Sponsorship Program, Purrfect Seniors has helped many senior cats—and some young ones too!

Working with other animal rescues in Southwestern Ontario to help find loving homes for the senior cats in their care, Purrfect Seniors gives these cats visibility and covers their adoption fees. By doing this, they not only increase the likelihood of adoption but also help free up resources for other organizations so they can help more animals in need.

The cat’s sponsorship continues after adoption for the remainder of their life. The exact coverage is specific to the needs of each cat and can include coverage for routine veterinary care, medications, prescription food, and other medical treatments. Further, Purrfect Seniors supports adopters through the provision of an initial care package, emotional support, and educational resources. Sponsored cats are monitored by volunteers through regular wellness checks to ensure they are receiving the care they need.

The purpose of Purrfect Seniors’ Sponsorship Program is to reduce the financial responsibility that comes with owning a senior cat, while also supporting adopters in meeting their cat’s specific needs. This helps more senior cats find loving homes and makes adoption possible for people who may not otherwise be able to afford caring for a senior cat.

Beyond adoption and sponsorship, Purrfect Seniors advocates for the adoption of senior cats and cats with unique needs. They also offer a variety of helpful resources for all cat owners and provide a welcoming space for cat lovers to learn, share, and connect.
