Potcake Pals Rescue is the Canadian branch of Potcake Puppy Palace, a dog rescue based in Nassau, The Bahamas. Established in 2012, our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome abandoned potcake puppies.

Many of our dogs are found abandoned or surrendered to the Bahamas Humane Society, often without their mothers, leaving them vulnerable at a young age. Led by our dedicated founder and puppy caregiver, Claire Cash (affectionately known as Mama Claire), along with our committed volunteers in the Bahamas, we provide round-the-clock care, including bottle feeding and medical attention, until the puppies are healthy and ready for adoption.

Over the past 10 years, we have rescued 1,414 dogs, placing them in approved homes in The Bahamas, Canada, and the US. However, the ongoing need for rescue highlights the challenges we face. As a non-profit organization, we rely on donations and adoption fees to sustain our operations.

Our puppies receive specialized care at the shelter, including regular veterinary check-ups and plenty of love and attention from local volunteers. This nurturing environment fosters their socialization and instills a loving nature towards humans.

Once a litter is ready, our Canadian volunteer operations team arranges transportation to Canada, where we match the puppies with foster families while they await their forever homes. We often receive adoption applications from across the country and the US, and we strive to accommodate these requests whenever possible.

However, our capacity in The Bahamas is currently strained, and we can only transport puppies to Canada if we have suitable fosters and adopters lined up in Ontario. We are actively seeking individuals interested in fostering or adopting, and donations of any size are greatly appreciated to cover the costs of rescue operations and veterinary care.

By getting involved with Potcake Pals Rescue through adoption, fostering, or donating, you join a compassionate community dedicated to giving these deserving puppies a chance at a happy life.
