🐱When picking a cat tree or scratch post, height and sturdiness are key to making it appealing for your cat!

✔ Height – Your cat should be able to fully extend while scratching. A tree or post at least 30 inches tall is ideal to support their natural stretching behaviour.

✔ Sturdiness – A wobbly or unstable post won’t get much use! Make sure it’s solid and won’t tip over.

✔ Scratch Pads – Horizontal scratch pads should match your cat’s size. A standard length of 18 to 24 inches provides enough space for comfortable scratching.

Breeds like Golden Retrievers, Huskies, and Labrador Retrievers have double coats that protect them from the elements - keeping them warm in winter and cool in summer. 🐶

Shaving their coat can actually do more harm than good! One study found that a shaved Golden Retriever took an average of 1.5 hours to cool down in the sun, while a non-shaved Golden cooled down much faster. 🙀

Some believe shaving reduces shedding, but it doesn’t - it just results in shorter, finer hairs being shed instead.

Instead of shaving, a professional bath, blow-dry, and proper grooming can help manage shedding while keeping their coat healthy. ✅

Alexy was the inspiration behind LocalPaws Magazine. Her loving soul had the power to brighten anyone’s day, and her beautiful blue eyes reminded us of the calm of the ocean and the endless blue skies.. 🩵💙

She will always hold a special place in our hearts and memories. ♥️
