Essential Oil Safety with Dogs:
- Always dilute for topical use.
- Observe your pet’s behavior when using oils for the first time.
- DO NOT use on or near eyes, ears, nose, or genitals.
- Water diffusers are safe for diffusing around pets.
- Do not use topically if they are using topical medication or a dermal patch.
- Only use Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade Oils.
- Dilution: For dogs over 20 pounds – 1 drop to 1 tsp per 5ml / For dogs under 20 pounds – 1 drop to 1 Tbsp per 15 ml.
Essential Oil Safety with Cats:
- Always dilute for topical use.
- Observe your pet’s behavior when using oils for the first time.
- DO NOT use on or near eyes, ears, nose, or genitals.
- Diffuse in an open space where the cat can exit.
- Do not use topically if they are using topical medication or a dermal patch.
- Only use Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade Oils.
- Dilution: For kittens – 1 drop to 4 Tbsp per 2 oz / For cats – 1 drop to 2 Tbsp per 1 oz.
- Oils to avoid, particularly with cats: basil, bergamot, birch, cinnamon, clove, fennel, grapefruit, lemon, lime, oregano, peppermint, tangerine, tea tree, thyme, rosemary, spearmint, wild orange, wintergreen.
